Eurosphere 2017 will see 80 European brands participating at the Gem Center in Ho Chi Minh City from June 16 to 17. Among the products showcased are fashion and accessories, gourmet food and beverages, perfumery and cosmetics, interior design and automotive with representatives of these products present to meet potential partners locally and from Southeast Asia.
A new concept of trade event, the exhibition is dedicated to bring the various European quality products to the Vietnamese and Southeast Asia market. It was introduced in the context of the new Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between EU and Vietnam (EVFTA) with Vietnam being the first country to sign such agreement in ASEAN after Singapore.
Companies taking part in the event are the first wave of European brands enjoying the unprecedented benefits from the FTA - main changes will be on import tax that will decrease to zero during a period of time of eight years, as well as on Geographical indications that will be protected automatically upon entry into force of the FTA.
The Eurosphere is supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs, national Embassies of European countries to Vietnam and Chambers of commerce of all EU member states and ASEAN regional partners.
In a press conference on May 12, His Excellency Bruno Angelet the ambassador and head of the delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, expressed strong belief in the success of Eurosphere in creating opportunity for the promotion of European products to the Vietnamese market.
While Delphine Rousselet, director of EVBN said: “European businesses deciding to enter Vietnam in this crucial time will have first-mover advantage in establishing their name in the market. Eurosphere will undoubtedly strengthen and continue to promote the economic bond between Vietnam and the EU trading bloc.”
At the event, 3,500 business visitors, mainly large importers, distributors, retailers, hospitality specialists, interior décor designers, fashion designers, policy makers, industry influencers, media representatives and also VIP’s and celebrities, will meet at Europhere 2017 through a series of B2B meetings, conferences with high profile European speakers, networking events, and private Gala dinner.
The event will not only focus on the economic partnership between European companies and Vietnam in the relevant sectors, but also to other ASEAN countires as regional partners of EVBN, who will introduce their respective market opportunities and follow-up trade missions in each country after Eurosphere 2017.
